In her daughter, Rosa's birth certificate of 1855, Helen's husband, John, was the informant. Some additional items of information were given in 1855 certificates beyond what later became the norm. Helen was aged 20 years and had been born in Hamilton, Scotland. Rosa was the second child of Helen Feely MS Campbell, the second girl living of their family. ³

Helen married John FEELY, son of Robert FEELY and Rose MAGOWN, on 27 May 1853 in St Mary's RC Parish, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^{1 2} (John FEELY was born in 1832 in County Armagh, Ireland ³, baptised on 13 October 1832 in Shankill RC parish, County Armagh, Ireland ^{7 8} and died 19 September 1874 at 8.00 pm in Hamilton Poorhouse, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁹.). The cause of his death was paralysis over four and a half months.

The proclamation of banns for this marriage were recorded by the IGI as 8 May 1853 at Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

The marriage took place in St Mary's RC Chapel, Hamilton as recorded in their records by Father Michael Condon:
