   Another name for Owin was KAVANAGH, Owen.²

Owin was recorded living in Aitchison Street, Airdrie, in 1841 with his parents and brothers and sisters. He was recorded as aged 15 years, that is, in the 15 - 19 years age group. He was an iron miner, and was born in Ireland. The family seemed to have come recently to Scotland from Ireland.

In the 1851 census, Owen was an ironstone miner living with his parental family at 4 Upper Row in the Carnbroe Ironworks village. His age then was recorded as 24 years.

No marriage or death for Owen Cavanagh has as yet been found in the Scottish records. ^{1 2}
