Catherine was not listed in the 1871 census entry with her parents in New Blair Street, Galston.

In 1881 the census recorded Catherine living at 59 Lethan Hill Dalmellington with her father and several brothers and sisters, of which she was the eldest. Her age was recorded as 21 and no occupation was noted for her. It is possible that after her mother's death she was the sibling to 'mother' the other children.

Cate Williamson was recorded in the 1900 US Census but not in the 1910 Census. 1 8

Catharine married Robert WILLIAMSON, son of James WILLIAMSON and Agnes PARK, on 29 June 1883 in Broadwood, Coylton, Ayrshire, Scotland. (Robert WILLIAMSON was born on 15 March 1851 in Muirkirk, Ayrshire, Scotland 9 and died about 1915 in Alabama, USA.)

  Marriage Notes:

The couple were married according to the rites of the Church of Scotland. The minister was James Glasgow, and the witnesses were Hugh Williamson and Susan Hay.

Robert, the groom, was 31 years old at the time of his marriage in 1883, a bachelor, and an iron miner. He was described as 'of Burnfoot Hil, Dalmellingtonl'.

Catherine, his bride, was 23 years, unmarried, and a dairy maid. She was 'of Broadwood, Coylton'. Her mother had already died by the time she was married.

Both the bride and groom signed the book before the registrar John Smith. 10
