Cause of his death was nephritis, bronchitis and myocarditis.
General Notes:
Daniel's father, a coal miner, registered his birth on 13 April 1866 at Paisley and signed his name.
The 1871 census for Allanton Colliery, Hamilton recorded Daniel Lynch living with his parents and brother and sister. He was the middle child of three, aged 4 years old, and had been born in Nitshill, Renfrewshire.
The 1881 census recorded Daniel aged 15, born in Neilston, Renfrewshire. He was recorded as a 'coal miner'. He had two brothers and two sisters younger than he was. He lived at 2 Eddlewood Road Hamilton.
The 1891 census recorded him living in Blantyre at 45 Dixon Street, with his brother, Andrew, and his mother, Alice. He was 24 years old, unmarried, and working as a coal miner. He was born in Nitshill, Renfrewshire.
His mother died in July 1891 in a tragic accident, less than two weeks before his brother James' marriage, and it was Daniel who informed the registrar of his mother's death.
In 1909 Daniel Lynch was the informant of his son Christopher's birth at 61 Dixon Street Blantyre. His date of marriage was noted as 17 April 1899, just a bit out! His occupation was that of coal miner.
On 17 January 1914 a short report appeared in the Hamilton Advertiser which may be this Daniel Lynch: "POLICEMEN'S RECEPTION At Hamilton Sheriff Court on Saturday, Daniel Lynch, miner, Dixon Street, Blantyre, was charged with having committed a breach of the peace, and assaulted Police Constables Straiton and McNeil. It was explained (on accused pleading guilty) that the officers had gone to accused's house, where Lynch met them with a chair, with which bulky weapon he struck both constables on the head. Accused, who admited to having been previously convicted, was sentenced by Sheriff Shennan (unclear) to three months imprisonment."
Daniel died in 1931, survived by his wife, Annie. His recorded age at death was 52 years. He was in fact aged 64. 'Coal hewer' was recorded as his occupation. 4 5 6

Annie Lynch, widow, who had been present where the death occurred, gave notice of her husband's death before Samuel Currie at Blantyre on 6 April 1931.
Daniel married Annie Jane CONWAY, daughter of James CONWAY and Alice FITZSIMMONS, on 23 February 1898 in RC Chapel, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Annie Jane CONWAY was born in 1879 and died after 6 April 1931.)
Marriage Notes:
The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. Father Peter Donnelly married the couple. The witnesses were Robert Tait and Jane Conway.
Daniel Lynch, a coal miner, age recorded as 27 years, resided at 28 Grammar School Square, Hamilton. He was unmarried. Both of his parents were deceased.
Annie was also unmarried. She was aged 18 years and a housekeeper. Her address was recorded as 53 Castle Street, Hamilton. Her parents were living.
The marriage was registered on 26 February 1898 at Hamilton, Henry Laird signing as registrar.
