This fourteenth day of January 1821 I baptised Sarah Lawful Daughter of James Quigley, weaver, and of his lawful wife Mary Duncan. The child was born the 23rd ultimo. Sponsors were William McLean and Betty McLean.

Sarah was recorded as aged 15 years (or possibly in the 15 - 20 years age group) when the 1841 census was taken. She had been born in Lanarkshire and was a cotton piecer. She lived at Muslin Street in Barony parish, Glasgow. ^{1 2}
