Charles McLoskey alias McLuskey was transported from England aboard the ship Fairlie, master Henry Ager. He was single, aged 17 years, could read, and was recorded as protestant. He was a weaver born in Renfrewshire, and his crime was housebreaking. He was convicted in Glasgow, Scotland on 24 April 1833. He was 5 feet 3 and a half inches in height, and of a ruddy, freckled complexion. His hair was brown and his eyes hazel, according to the description of him in the indent. His brother John was also transported on the same vessel. Both had mermaid tattoos in the inside of their lower right arm. ^{2 3}
