QUIGLEY, Ann
General Notes: Ann Quigley arrived at Sydney on 14 March 1829 aboard the City of Edinburgh from Leith and Hobart. She travelled steerage class. Along with Ann were James Quigley and Jane Quigley, all of whom were from Ireland. They were travelling to Australia 'to join their friends'. Ann married James FRASER 19 February 1831(permission granted) in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. (James FRASER was born in 1806-1808 and died on 11 December 1852.) Marriage Notes: On 19 February 1831 Ann Quigley and James Fraser were granted permission to marry. The clergyman who married them was John McGarvie of Sydney. Ann was 18 years of age and had come free to Sydney. James Fraser was 23 years old and serving a life sentence as a convict in Australia. He had come to Australia aboard the vessel Albion. |
