Agnes' mother, Catherine Feely, stated in her application for parish relief in 1879 that her daughter Agnes was 4 years and 4 months old and had been born 26 (St) Margaret's Place, Glasgow.

The 1891 census for Hamilton included, at 21 Castle Street, a granddaughter of Robert Feely & Mary Grimes called Agnes McNeil. The census recorded her as 16 years, unmarried, a scholar, and born in Glasgow. ^{1 2}
