  General Notes:

Elizabeth, James' daughter, married in 1857. James was deceased. He was recorded then as having been a cotton spinner.

James Wade was recorded in his wife Ann's death certificate in 1874 as a cotton spinner. He was deceased by then.

Mary Ann, daughter of James, died in 1904 at Eaglesham. Her death certificate referred to him as 'James Wade cotton spinner deceased'. The same was noted for him in 1905 when his daughter Elizabeth died.


James married Ann QUIGLY, daughter of Peter QUIGLY and Mary LOGAN, on 26 October 1819 in St Mirin's RC Chapel, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. (Ann QUIGLY was born about 1799 and died 11 August 1874 at 8.00 pm in 78 High Street, Rothesay, Bute, Scotland 2.). The cause of her death was infirmity.


  Marriage Notes:

The Old Parish Marriage Register of High Church Parish Paisley records in Proclamations under 'Wade' for the 10 October 1819 (a Sunday). 'James Wade and Ann Quigly both in this parish'.

These were the start of the banns for the marriage, called in the Established Church in High Church Parish Paisley. The excerpt from the OPR ends 'Married 26th October 1819 by James McLachlane Catholic Clergyman'. In the right hand column reads '3 days' and '1 (shilling)'.
