  General Notes:

In 1905 when James' father, also called James, applied for parish relief from Govan Combination,'James 17' was included on his list of children. The inspector's report also stated that he was born in Hamilton and was single. It added he was supposedly in Larkhall.

APPLICATION FOR PARISH RELIEF

James Feeley residing at Hydepark Model applied for poor relief on 4/5/1908 at approximately 2.55 pm. He had been born at Lowpatrick Street Hamilton, and was aged 21 years and single. He was a Roman Catholic who worked as a labourer.

He was disabled from earning through influenza and catarrh (Dr Mather) and having no means of support he was wholly destitute. His parents were James Feeley, miner, and Bridget McLachlan. The latter was dead, and the father in Larkhall at 73 Buffen Larkhall. The applicant applied for admission; he had supported himself previously by his own efforts and this was his first application.

The parish settlement was Hamilton.
On 4/5/08 at 4.50 - Barnhill, signed Alfred S. Martin Ass Insp.
