  General Notes:

Charles was a labourer in a grain store according to the 1855 death certificate of his son William, and of his daughter Margaret in 1872. ⁴

Charles married Ann JOHNSTON. (Ann JOHNSTON was born about 1775 and died after 10 Nov 1855.)

Charles next married Mary GLENNIE, daughter of Alexander GLENNIE and Margaret WILLIAM.¹ (Mary GLENNIE was born about 1775.)

  Marriage Notes:

"John Forbes of Towie married Grant, daughter to John Grant of Bandallach, who did bear to him a son, who was unmercifullie murdered in the castell of Corgaffe, and after the deceass ot Bandallach's daughter, the sd. John Forbes married Margaret Campbell,.."

"Her (Katharine, daughter of Alexander Forbes of Towie) brother, John Forbes of Towie, lost his wife, Margaret Campbell, daughter of Sir John Campbell of Calder, at the burning of Towie Castle in 1571."
