   Cause of his death was pneumonia lasting 19 days.

   Another name for William was LINAS, William John.

  General Notes:

William's death certificate in 1855 says he was aged 55 years then and was a labourer in a grain store. He had been three months in the district he was in.

  Medical Notes:

The cause of death was certified by Dr J.R.Dickson who saw William on November 10 1855.

Henry McWhirter, William's brother in law, notified the registrar Mr Ian McWhirter on 12 November at Glasgow.

The undertakers were Wylie and Lochhead.

William married Eliza WILSON. (Eliza WILSON was born about 1805 and died after 10 Nov 1855.)

William next married Thomas SMITH, son of George SMITH and Catherine Kerr SEMPLE.^{1 2} (Thomas SMITH was born about 1928 and died in North Vancouver, Canada ⁵.)

The Strachans of Glenkindie states that Elspet Forbes was the widow of Alexander Forbes of Towie, and that with Alexander Straqhan, her spouse, she raised an action, on 29 June 1597, against Towie tenants, obtaining a decree against them. ^{1 2}
