John died before his wife. He was a labourer.

John married Annie QUIGLEY. (Annie QUIGLEY was born about 1769 in County Armagh, Ireland, died 15 February 1855 at 8.00 am in Linwood, Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire, Scotland ⁵ and was buried in Abbey Parish Churchyard, Renfrewshire, Scotland.). The cause of her death was bronchitis and general debility lasting more than two weeks.

"Agnes (Gordon, daughter of Alexander Gordon III of Lesmoir), married George Bannerman of Waterton, probably son of Alexander Bannerman, who was Sheriff-Depute of Aberdeen in 1589. Her brother, James, gave caution in 1607 for George Bannerman of Waterton and Alexander, his eldest son, in £2,000 each not to harm William Hay of Urie. George Bannerman was 'of Waterton' in 1589."

John next married Sophia STRACHAN, daughter of Alexander STRACHAN Merchant and Postmaster in Banff and Margaret ROBERTSON, in 1586.² (Sophia STRACHAN was born in 1733, died on 10 Apr 1781 in Banff Parish, Banffshire, Scotland and was buried in Banff Churchyard, Banffshire, Scotland.)

"Alexander (see Note below) Bannerman of Elsick married Elizabeth Johnston, daughter of John Johnston of that Ilk and of Caskieban, in 1586.

He lived at Elsick, ScotlandG.2 In 1609 he suceeded to the estates of Waterton (near Aberdeen) and Elsick (in the Barony of Cowrie in the Mearns.) In 1611 he sold the estate of Waterton to John Johnston of that Ilk and of Caskieban.
