   Cause of his death was abscess of the lung over 2 months and gangrene of lung over 7 days.²

1861 Census:
Charles Harris lived at 47 Dale Street Glasgow with his wife Marion and his two daughters, Agnes aged 4 years and Charlotte, aged 1 year. Both parents were 30 years old, Charles born in Ireland and Marion born in Greenock Scotland. The children were born in Glasgow. Charles was a labourer and Marion a mill worker.

Mary's son, Charles Harris, of 47 Dale Street, gave notice of his mother's death before the registrar at Glasgow on 20 April 1858 and made his X mark.

Charles Harris died at the recorded age of 51 years in 1879. His usual residence was 80 Nelson Street Glasgow. He was married to Marion Hood. Both of his parents were dead. ^{3 4}
