John was a labourer according to the 1858 death certificate of his daughter Mary. ³

John married Mrs CAMPBELL MS UNKNOWN. (Mrs CAMPBELL MS UNKNOWN was born about 1770 and died before 1858.)

John next married Henry HARRIS, son of Edward HARRIS and Mary CAMPBELL.^{1 2} (Henry HARRIS was born about 1833 in Ireland ⁴ and died 6 January 1883 at 8.00 am in City Poorhouse, Glasgow, Scotland ⁵.). The cause of his death was chronic bronchitis of duration unknown, renal disease over 1 year and dropsy over 8 months.
