1911 Census of Ireland
A John McCole aged 71 years as head of a small household of three living at house number 11 in Drung County Donegal Ireland. He was a Roman Catholic widower, born in Donegal, who worked as a farmer. He could read and write, and could speak both Irish and English. With him lived a son, John, aged 29 years who was single and had also been born in Donegal. He too could read and write and was a Catholic. The third person was a 13 year old granddaughter of John senior called Margery McLoughin who had been born in Scotland.


John married Madge SMITH. (Madge SMITH was born about 1840.)


John next married John GLEN, son of Edward Patrick VALLELY and Jane GLEN.1 (John GLEN was born on 20 Jan 1873 in Calton, Glasgow, Scotland 3.)


  Marriage Notes:

"James Gordon married twice. His first wife was Margaret Stewart (to whom he was married before 1521 and who was alive in 1541), 'Lady Eden,' daughter of Patrick Stewart of Laithers (Balbithan MS., p. 43) of the family of Stewart of Lorn and Invermeath, to which the Stewarts, Earls of Athol, and the Stewarts, Earls of Buchan also belonged."
