General Notes: Agnes Quigley with her husband and four children were recorded by the 1861 census living at Fardihill Colliery in Kilmaurs parish, Ayrshire. Agnes was aged 32 years and had been born in Ireland. Her work consisted of household duties. Noted events in her life were: • sponsor at baptism, 28 Apr 1850, St Joseph's RC Chapel, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. 7 • sponsor at baptism, 29 Jan 1854, St Mirin's RC Chapel, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Agnes married Catherine McQUELLAN.1 (Catherine McQUELLAN was born about 1795 in Ireland.) Marriage Notes: "John Bane Drummond's youngeft daughter, Iffobella Drummond, went north with her cufine Margaret, Lady Gordone ; where fhe was married to Gordon of Buckie, who begot with her tuo fones and a daughter, married to ------- Gordon of Cairnbarrow, called Beffie Gordon : of her are [defcended] diverfe families of that name, which were called Drummond Gordons." Agnes next married James QUIGLAY, son of James QUIGLAY and Catherine McQUELLAN, on 12 Dec 1851 in St Joseph's RC Chapel, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland.2 (James QUIGLAY was born about 1822 in County Monaghan, Ireland 2 9 and died 11 February 1867 at 8.00 am in 25 Fore Street, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland 10.). The cause of his death was typhoid fever of 11 days' duration. Marriage Notes: The couple married at St Joseph's RC Church, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire by Fr Thomas Wallace on 12 December 1851 and were inscribed in his records as James Quigly and Agnes Donley. Agnes had a relationship with.
