In 1881 Alice was 2 years old when the census recorded her family in 1881.

In 1901 Alice was recorded by the 1901 census living at Kirkland's Land in nemains with her brothers Owen and Thomas and a relative probably called William Vallely who was noted as the head of the household. Alice, who was recorded as 21 years of age, was born in Newmains. She worked as a domestic servant. ^{2 3}

Alice married Bernard KELLY, son of Michael KELLY and Mary DONNACHIE, on 17 September 1908 in St Bridget's RC Church, Newmains, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹ (Bernard KELLY was born about 1880 ¹.)

  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The celebrating priest was James Bird. The witnesses were Dan Connelly and Kate Maguire.

Bernard Kelly was an unmarried man of 28 years of age. He resided at Caledonian Road Wishaw and was a steel worker. Both of his parents were deceased.

Alice Vallely was also unmarried. She was 27 years old and worked as a domestic servant. Her address was noted as Morton's Land, Crindledyke. Alice's father was deceased.

The marriage was registered at Wishaw on 19 September 1908, Thomas Steele registrar. ¹
