  General Notes:

In 1851 the census for Barony parish Lanarkshire recorded Francis Vallilie as head of a household living at 38 Garscube Lane Glasgow that ranged through three generations. With him lived his wife Catherine, his daughters Helen and Catherine, his son Bernard and Bernard's wife Mary and their two small children, Mary and Francis. Francis was recorded as 50 years of age and had been born in Ireland. He was an agricultural labourer.

Francis Vallaley was an agricultural labourer according to the marriage certificate of his daughter Catherine in 1857.

He was recorded as a farmer in the 1867 marriage of his son Francis.

The death certificate of his son Francis in 1892 recorded Francis as a coal miner. ^{2 4 6}

Francis married Mary CAMPBELL. (Mary CAMPBELL was born about 1800 and died before 9 September 1892.)

Francis next married Catharine PURVIS on 21 November 1824 in Coalisland RC parish, County Tyrone, Ireland.¹ (Catharine PURVIS was born about 1800 in Ireland ⁴ and died after 31 July 1857 ⁶.)
