Robert Smith, Mary's father was the informant of her birth before the registrar at Baillieston on 9 December 1869. He was recorded as a coal miner.

Mary is listed with her Smith family in Baillieston until the 1891 census. In the 1901 census only Michael is at home with his parents. ³

Mary married Thomas REYNOLDS, son of James REYNOLDS and Margaret MATHIESON, on 22 June 1894 in St Bridget's RC Church, Baillieston, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹ (Thomas REYNOLDS was born on 29 January 1869 in Old Monkland parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁴ and died in 1933 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.)

  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest was Peter H. Terken CC. The witnesses were Robert Smith and Annie Smith.

The bridegroom was an unmarried man of 25 years of age who was a coal miner. He lived at Gartshore Square Drumpark Bargeddie.

The bride was unmarried and aged 25 years. She was a powerloom weaver who lived at Gilmour's Land Baillieston.

The marriage was registered at Baillieston on 23 June 1894. ¹
