  General Notes:

Mary McGunnigal was recorded aged 28 years by the 1871 census for Forfar. Wife of a tailor she lived in east back Wynd and three children ranging in age from 2 months to 7 years. She was Forfar born. Mary's parents were recorded too, and appear on the same page of the census living at 115 East High Street.

Mary was widowed in 1907.

The 1910 US Census for Trumbull OHIO recorded Mary McGunegal as aged 66 years, a white woman, who was widowed. She was head of the household. Both of her parents were born in Ireland and she was born in Scotland. She could read and write. She did not work outside the home. Her home in 1910 was located at 112 West Market Street, Warren, Ward 3B Trumbull, Ohio. She was the owner of this house and it was mortgaged. 2 3 4

Mary married John McGUNIGAL, son of Hugh McGUNIGAL and Sarah COYLE, on 2 November 1863 in 117 East High Street, Forfar, Scotland.1 (John McGUNIGAL was born on 21 August 1838 in Glasgow, Scotland 5 6 7, baptised on 4 November 1838 in St Andrew's RC Chapel, Glasgow, Scotland,7 died in 1907 3 5 6 and was buried in Oakwood, Warren, Trumbull Ohio, USA 3.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was enacted after banns according to the forms of the United Presbyterian Church. The minister was Peter Wright. The witnesses were Margret (sic) Langlands and John L. Fenton.

John MacGunagall, who made his X mark, was an unmarried man of 24 years. He lived at 117 East High Street Forfar. He was a journeyman tailor by occupation. His father was deceased.

Mary Fulton was unmarried and aged 20 years. She too lived at 11 East High Street Forfar. No occupation was noted for her.

The marriage was registered on 3 November 1863 at Forfar, the registrar being John Webster. 1
