Daniel married Jean GRANT, daughter of George GRANT in Overtown of Easter Elchies and Isobel PROCTOR, on 3 December 1813 in Rothes parish, Moray, Scotland.^{1 2} (Jean GRANT was baptised on 6 August 1775 in Knockando parish, Moray, Scotland ³ and died on 3 February 1858 in Pitcraigie, Rothes, Moray, Scotland ⁵.). The cause of her death was pneumonia and sinusitis over 2 months.
