  General Notes:

When Rebecca and her sister were born the family lived at 14 Sandwich Street in the parish of St Pancras, London.

In 1891 the census found Alexander Haimes, head of the household, aged 53 years and born in Haddington, living at 39 Niddry Street, Edinburgh, with his wife Mary, his two children, George and Ellen, and his two nieces, Mary and Rebecca. Rebecca was the youngest of the household, aged 13 years. Like her sister she had been born in London.

In her death certificate of 1905, Rebecca Haimes was recorded as a single woman of 28 years of age, who had been a domestic servant. Her usual address had been 13 Henderson Street, Leith. Her father Richard was deceased. 1

G. Douglas McRae M.B. C.M. certified the cause of death.

M. Haimes, aunt of the deceased woman, and of the same address, 13 Henderson Street Leith, gave notice of her death before the registrar at Edinburgh on 7 December 1905.
