"1751, Sept. 4.-Receipt by Margaret Stuart, relict of Mr. George Chalmers, late minister at Botriphny, to Magdalen Gordon of Birkenburn, relict of Mr. John Stuart, late minister at Drumblade, for 40 merks, being a year's interest of 800 merks due to her by bond by William Gordon, late of Birkenburn, now deceased : signed at Pittivaich, September 4, 1751, before Mr. Alexander Chalmers, minister at Glass [and her son] and John Maver in Pitglassie, kirk officer at Mortlich (ibid.)."

Alexander married Anne SIME, daughter of Reverend Mr Walter SIME Minister of Mortlach and Elizabeth STEWART, on 22 June 1738. (Anne SIME was born about 1720 and died on 27 July 1786.)

He marr. 22nd June 1738, Anne (died 27th July 1786), daugh. of Walter Sime, min. of this parish, and had issue Margaret, born 7th Jan. 1741; Anne, born 26th July 1743 (marr. - - Thomson) ; George, M.A., surgeon -apothecary, London, born 25th Sept. 1744, died March 1769; Walter, born 2nd Dec. 1745."

Note:

1680 appears to be a typographical error for 1690, though it makes the MA year problematic. The Alexander Chalmers found in the list of graduates seem too young to be this man.
