TILLYHILT

Also Tilliehilt.
Tillyhilt is in the parish of Tarves, Aberdeenshire, about 16 or 17 miles north of the city of Aberdeen, and a few miles sound of Methlick. There are remains of a castle there now, apparently tower walls which were six feet thick.

"John Gordon obtained a grant of the lands of Tillihilt (sic) on 8th July 1575, and the castle was undoubtedly built thereafter. The foundations may still be seen. The building would have been a small one, not exceeding 30 feet in length."
