  Marriage Notes:

"John Leith of Bucharne married Beatrix, daughter of Major Walter Ogilvie, third son of Sir Patrick Ogilvie of the Boyne, Lord of Session. The wadset of Bucharne expired in John's time. His eldest son, Alexander, became tacksman of the farm. John, his second son, became John Leith of Blair in Bourtie ; whose descendant, (see Note below) John Leith, called of Kinguidie, died in 1764,and, in 1807, his daughter Ann, liferentrix. There was a third son named George Leith."

from Inverurie

Note:

The dates do not appear to allow two generations of John Leith or Blair and John Leith of Kingudie, if Beatrix Ogilvy was indeed the granddaughter of Sir Patrick Ogilvy of Boyne. It is possible that both designations refer to the same person at different times.
