MISSING GENERATION
Memorials of the Scottish Families of Strachan and Wise by Charles Rogers (1877), in the account of the Strachan family of Carmyllie, moves from the 1405 grant by William Maule of Panmure to John Strachan of Carmyllie to the endowment in 1500 by David Strachan of the chaplaincy at Carmyllie. Logic suggests a generation has been omitted. Since a later laird is named as Alexander 'the younger', it may be that David's father was named Alexander too. 2
Alexander married Daughter SETON, daughter of Sir Gilbert SETON 3rd of Parbroath, scutifer of James I of Scots and Marion PITCAIRN.1 (Daughter SETON was born about 1432.)
