MALAVILLA
In the INDEX OF CHARTERS BY KING DAVID II Christian de Maule is referred to in the Latin of the day as Cristianam de Malavilla, Dominam de Glenbervy. This name 'Malavilla' is used for another Scottish surname ' de Mala villa Melville'. The use of Melville seems to be linked to the Lothians, and the Maule to the family further north.
Christian married Alexander DE STRACHAN of Carmyllie, son of John DE STRATHACHYN and Unknown.1 2 3 (Alexander DE STRACHAN of Carmyllie was born about 1298 and died after February 1382 2.)
