  General Notes:

The 1841 census recorded a Thos Nisbet living with Mary Nisbet, and Thomas, Helen, and Catherine Nisbet, at Echline in the parish of Dalmeny, West Lothian. All replied 'No' to the question about whether they had been born in the census county. The younger Thomas was recorded as five years old.

Thomas Nisbet was not listed with his father and family in the family entry of the 1851 census. There are a couple of entries of this census that might be this person working as a servant.

In 1871 Thomas (Mr Nesbett) aged 38 years arrived in New York with his seven children.

A man named Thomas Nesbit died in New Haven. Connecticut, USA in 1882, who quite possibly was this man. His age was noted as 61 years of age, which would be rather inflated for this Thomas. Only the transcribed index has been seen by this researcher, and the age may have been misread, or else it may have been misinformed originally which is not uncommon at death at that time. 2 3 4
