He marr. 5th July 1832, Mary (died at Tarland, 9th Nov. 1876, aged 75), daugh. of James Farquharson, Belnabodach, Strathdon, and had issue Major James Farquharson, 62nd Foot, born 11th Nov. 1835, died 20th Dec. 1912; Margaret Isabella, born 11th April 1837 (marr. William Skinner, min. of Tarland) ; Colonel Sir John Cosmo Farquharson of Corrachree, Tarland, K.C.B., Director - General of the Ordnance Survey of Great Britain and Ireland, born 18th March 1839, died unmarr. 3rd July 1905 ; Mary Anne, born 10th April 1841 (marr.
