"Sir Alexander Falconer of Halkerton had a charter of that barony and of the lands of Leithen to himself and Agnes Carnegie his spouse on 27 January 1594-95, and again to himself 28 July 1612.....He married (contract dated 18 or 28 November 1594) Agnes, eldest daughter of Sir David Carnegie of Colluthie, sister of David, first Earl of Southesk."
