FALCONER, Alexander 8th of Halkerton, then Lord of Halkerton, Sir
General Notes: Sir Alexander was appointed Lord of Session on 9 July 1639. King Charles I granted Sir Alexander a yearly pension of £200. His influence in Scottish government was recognized on 20 December 1646, when he was created Lord Falconer of Halkerton, with destination to himself and his heirs-male whatsoever. Alexander married Ann LINDSAY, daughter of John LINDSAY 8th Lord of the Byres and Unknown, in April 1619. (Ann LINDSAY was born about 1600.) |
