WINTON, William
Cause of his death was apoplexy.3 General Notes: William Winton and his wife Helen were listed in the household of Charles and Ann Brown in the 1841 census for Dean Village, Edinburgh. Their address was 'Water of Leith Dean Path'. Charles and Ann Brown were William's sister and brother in law. William was an engineer (journeyman) and aged in the 30-34 years age group. He had been born in Midlothian. Medical Notes: The Register of Corrected Entries maintained by the Procurator Fiscal listed the investigation into and the cause of William's sudden death. The entry dated 3 September 1874 states that William died in his house at Bonnyrigg of apoplexy. This was certified by Dr Allan of Bonnyrigg. William married Helen ALLAN, daughter of William ALLAN and Mary SHANKS, on 28 September 1832 in Brechin, Angus, Scotland.1 (Helen ALLAN was born on 11 July 1807 1 2, baptised on 22 July 1807 in Brechin, Angus, Scotland 1 and died after 16 August 1874.) |
