Helen Winton was recorded by the 1841 census living with her husband in Dean Village, Edinburgh. She had been born outside of Midlothian and was recorded in the 30-34 years age group.

The death certificate of her husband, William, in 1874 records the fact that his wife Helen Allan survived him. ²

Helen married William WINTON, son of Alexander WINTON (DNA Linked) and Janet GUILD (DNA Linked), on 28 September 1832 in Brechin, Angus, Scotland.¹ (William WINTON was born about 1812 in Midlothian, Scotland ^{2 3} and died 16 August 1874 at 10.30 am in Bonnyrigg, Cockpen, Midlothian, Scotland ³.). The cause of his death was apoplexy.
