Jean married Claud HAMILTON Lord Strabane, son of James HAMILTON 1st Earl of Abercorn and Marion BOYD, on 28 November 1632 in Bellie parish, Moray, Scotland.1 2 (Claud HAMILTON Lord Strabane was born about 1605 and died in 1638 2.)

"Jean (Gordon), married, first, 28 November 1632, to Claud (Hamilton), Lord Strabane ; he died 1638, and she married, secondly, 1641, Sir Phelim O'Neile (see vol. i. p. 50)."

Jean next married Sir Phelim O'NEILL of Kinard, Soldier and Politician in 1649.3 (Sir Phelim O'NEILL of Kinard, Soldier and Politician was born about 1604 and died 10 March 1652(1653) 3.). The cause of his death was execution.

"Phelim (O' Neill)'s first wife, a daughter of Lord Iveagh, had died in September 1641, and he next married Louise, the Dutch-born daughter of Owen Roe's great rival, Thomas Preston (qv), general of the confederate Leinster army...... He was survived by his third wife (m. 1649), Lady Jean Gordon, daughter of Lord Huntley; their son Gordon sat in the Jacobite parliament in 1689 (representing Co. Tyrone), and played an active role in the Williamite wars."
