"In the feudal rentals due to the Crown relating to West Barns, payments due for six acres of The Rig and Fleurs, and for other lands at West Barns, are assigned to Jonete Liddale relict of William Lauder, 9th May 1566.[³The Exchequer Rolls of Scotland, vol.18, p.375.]

Under the 'Parsonage of Dunbar' (SRO, vol.a, fol.173r) the teind sheaves for Dunbar town and Hedderwick (a Lauder of Bass superiority) worth 200 merks per annum were allotted to Maurice Lauder and his mother [this] Helen Liddale (sic) dwelling in Dunbar. The date given is March 1574."
