  Marriage Notes:

"Christian (Abernethy), married in 1468 to Sir John Wemyss of that Ilk."

from Scots Peerage (vol 7)

"Sir John Wemyss died about the beginning of the year 1508, having held possession of the estates only six years. He was twice married, his first wife, to whom, as already stated, he was married in 1468, being Christian Abemethy, daughter of Laurence, Lord Abernethy of Saltoun. She was alive in 1494, and the date of her death has not been ascertained Sir John married, secondly, Helen Dunbar, of what fomily is not known. She was, in 1504, the widow of Alexander Melville, the lands of Bogtoun, in the barony of Wemyss, being in that year apprised from Sir John Wemyss in favour of her children by Melville. She survived Sir John Wemyss, and about six months after his decease married Andrew Moncur of that ilk, who died before 2d May 1511, and whom she also survived. Sir John Wemyss does not appear to have had issue by his second wife, but by his first wife he had four sons and two daughters.."

from Family of Wemyss

Note:

Laurence Abernethy died in 1460.
The Frasers of Philorth calls her Christiana and also lists her as the daughter of Lawrence Abernethy. The dates suggest she could have been the daughter of a first wife of William, given the likely age of her husband, but equally she may have been a late child of Lawrence and his wife. Without exact biographical information of the parties concerned, her parentage is uncertain. 1 2 4
