David married Euphemia LUNDY, daughter of Sir John LUNDY of that Ilk, Governor of Edinburgh and Stirling Castles and Isabel FORRESTER, before 11 May 1493.1 2 (Euphemia LUNDY was born about 1470.)


  Marriage Notes:

"David Wemyss, who succeeded his father before May 1508, is first named, in 1493, in a charter to himself and Euphemia Lundy, his spouse, of the lands of Dron and the HiU of Dron in Fifeshire. In 1502 he is referred to as claiming the lands of Tillybreak, and in the same year he was appointed executor to his grandfather Sir John Wemyss."

"Sir David Wemyss was twice married, first, in 1493, to Euphemia Lundy, probably a daughter of Lundy of that ilk ; secondly, before 1512, to Janet Gray, daughter of Andrew, third Lord Gray, and widow of John Charteris of Cuthilgurdy. Janet Gray survived her second husband for twenty-six years, dying in October 1539."

David next married Janet GRAY, daughter of Andrew GRAY 2nd Lord Gray and Elizabeth(1) STEWART, between 1508 and 1512.1 3 (Janet GRAY was born about 1485 and died in October 1539 1 4.)


  Marriage Notes:

"William (younger of Inverugie), who in 1517-18 is described as son and heir of Sir William Keith. He also predeceased his father, having married Janet, fourth daughter of Andrew, second Lord Gray, widow respectively of John Charteris of Cuthilgurdy, and after 1508 of Sir David Wemyss of that Ilk, who fell at Flodden. William had issue two daughters, his co-heiresses, who are always mentioned as heirs of their grandfather Sir William ..."

"He (David Wemyss) married, secondly, between 1508 and 1512, Janet Gray, fourth daughter of Andrew, second Lord Gray, widow of John Charteris of Cuthil Gurdy. She survived her second husband, and married, thirdly, William Keith, sometime heir of Sir William Keith of Inverugie. She married, fourthly, about 1530, James Campbell of Lawers."
