General Notes:
Both his mother and father signed Peter's birth notice. It was registered at Clatt on May 28th 1878.
The 1881 census recorded a woman aged 62 called Christina Home living in Overtown of Tullyangus in Clatt, Aberdeenshire. With her were recorded at the same dwelling Peter Gordon aged 13 born Keig, Aberdeenshire, and Peter Home Ross aged 3, born Clatt, Aberdeenshire. Later information indicated that these boys were her grandsons.
Peter Home Ross died in 1889. His death certificate recorded that he was 10 years and 10 months of age when he died. The death certificate stated that he was illegitimate. 1

Peter Gordon, cousin of the deceased boy, of Gilmerton, gave notice of Peter's death before the registrar, William Cochrane, at Gilmerton on 7 February 1889. 1
