Alexander married Wife UNKNOWN.1 (Wife UNKNOWN was born about 1446.)


  Marriage Notes:

"Alexander (Ogilvy) was .... eldest son to Thomas Ogilvy first laird of Clova by his wife Elizabeth Douglas. [1 NRS GD224/903/29]

About 1445 he married but the name of his wife is not discovered.

Alexander had three sons and two daughters:

1. Thomas who became the second laird of Clova on the death of his grandfather.

2. David who was witness to a charter at Cortachy on 24 August 1491. [2 NRS GD16/2/18] He had a son Henry

3. John who following David was described as brother to Thomas Ogilvy of Clova on 5 June 1495. [3 NRS GD16/42/1]

4. Marjory who married John Scott, son and heir apparent to John Scott, elder, burgess of Montrose. [4 Acts of Lords of Council in Civil Causes (1496-1501) p.501 24 Mar 1500]

5. Elizabeth who married William Haliburton, son and heir apparent of John Haliburton of Gask and Pitcur; their contract of marriage being dated 16 March 1506/7 [5 Acta Dom. Conc. Calendar of Deeds xviii. ii. 32]"
