"He (John Crichton) married firstly (before 19 June 1555), Hon. Isobella Lindsay, daughter of Alexander Lindsay, Master of Crawford (known as the 'Wicked Master'), by his wife Janet Sinclair, and with whom, on his resignation, they had a conjunct charter for the lands of Mains of Meigle on 19 June 1555. In this charter, John Crichton resigned his sole right to the lands and house of Meigle to be shared thenceforward with his spouse. A Royal charter dated 19 June 1555 confirmed their joint infeftment in the lands of Meigle.[4 RMS Vol.iv 1000]"

"John Crichton married secondly (after 20 October 1573), Dame Christian Keith, Lady Boyne, daughter of William, third Earl Marischal and relict of Sir Walter Ogilvie of Boyne.
