Thirteen years afterwards, during the lifetime of his first wife, by banns proclaimed in the Kirk of Glenlyon where she was a parishioner, he married Beatrix Chisholm, sister of James Chisholm of Cromlix, but the marriage was annulled by the commissaries at the instance of the Procurator-Fiscal in 1573-74.
