Elizabeth next married Walter SCOTT, son of David SCOTT younger, apparent of Buccleuch and Jane DOUGLAS, before 23 October 1495.1 2 (Walter SCOTT was born about 1473 and died before 15 April 1504 1.)

"He (Walter Scott) died before 15 April 1504, having married Elizabeth, daughter of Walter Kerr of Cessford, widow of Philip Rutherford, son and heir-apparent of James Rutherford of that Ilk. She survived Sir Walter until 19 October 1548, being burned to death in the tower of Catslack, wliich was fired by the English. They had issue"

"Elizabeth (Ker), married .... secondly, before 23 October 1495, to Sir Walter Scott of Buccleuch. Sir Walter Scott died 15 April 1504, and his widow survived him forty four years, perishing in the burning of Gatslack Tower in an incursion of the English under Lord Grey 19 October 1548, an incursion instigated by the Kers. She was the mother of Sir Walter Scott of Buccleuch, killed by the Kers in the High Street of Edinburgh in 1552."
