Retoured heir: to grandfather, 1492, in lands of Branxholme. 2 Walter married Elizabeth KER, daughter of Walter KER of Caverton, then of Cessford and First wife OF WALTER KER, before 23 October 1495.1 2 (Elizabeth KER was born about 1470 and died on 19 October 1548 in Catslack Tower, Yarrow, Selkirkshire, Scotland 2.). The cause of her death was burning. Marriage Notes: "He (Walter Scott) died before 15 April 1504, having married Elizabeth, daughter of Walter Kerr of Cessford, widow of Philip Rutherford, son and heir-apparent of James Rutherford of that Ilk. She survived Sir Walter until 19 October 1548, being burned to death in the tower of Catslack, wliich was fired by the English. They had issue" |
