General Notes: "He (John) was heir apparent of Inverquharity by 1524 when on 26 March he with his father made peace with Thomas Ogilvy of Clova and his eldest son James at the waterside of Prosen regarding ownership of the lands between their estates. To put an end to long term costly feuding the two parties, David Ogilvy of Inverquharity, his heirs, kin etc on the one part and Thomas Ogilvy of Clova likewise on the other part consented to a jury of mutually agreed arbiters adjusting all their differences and setting out terms in an indenture. As David's eldest son John and the eldest son of Thomas also signed this document about three o'clock in the afternoon of 26 March 1524." John married Elizabeth GUTHRIE, daughter of Alexander GUTHRIE 3rd of Kincaldrum, 2nd of that Ilk and Margaret LYON.1 (Elizabeth GUTHRIE was born about 1485.) Marriage Notes: "John married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Alexander Guthrie who was killed at the Battle of Flodden in 1513...."
