  Marriage Notes:

"A daughter maried to Sir Wm Sinclair of Westrea in Orkney."

from Tables of Robert Gordon

"Eleanor, whom it was proposed in 1504 to marry to John Crichton of Invernyte. It is possible that it was she who, according to Ferrerius, married Sir William Sinclair of Westray in Orkney, as his wife's name was Helen Gordon, who survived him and
married David Hepburn. But Sir William Sinclair's wife has been claimed as a daughter of Adam Gordon, Earl of Sutherland."

from Scots Peerage (vol 4)

"Sir William of Warsetter, called 'my Lordis brother' in the 'rental of my Lord Sinclair that deit at Flodden.' He died before 13 May 1527, when his widow had a charter. He married Helen Gordon, a lady whose parentage is not known, and who has been stated variously to have been a daughter of George, second Earl of Huntly, and of Adam Gordon, Earl of Sutherland. He had issue."

from Scots Peerage (vol 7)

Note:
In
Memorials of the Family of Gordon of Craig Douglas Wimberley states that Adam of Aboyne married the heiress of the Sutherland family, thus becoming Earl of Sutherland
"... and Adam's daughter, Lady Helenor, married a George Gordon of Auchmalidy, apparently of the Auchmenzie family (see Rec. of Aboyne, p. 212), and got Tilphoudie for her portion..."

"He (Sir William Sinclair) married Helene, daughter of George, second Earl of Huntly, by Annabella, Princess of Scotland. In the Register of the Great Seal there is on the 13th May 1527, entry of a charter to Lady Helene Gordone, relict of quondam [the deceased] Sir William Sinclair of Warsetter, knight..."

Note:
A great many claims are made about which children were children of George Gordon's marriage with the princess of Scots. Eleanor is treated here as a later daughter and therefore most likely the daughter of Elizabeth Hay
