  Research Notes:

MOTHER

William Moir's baptism is not found in the Parish Registers of the Church of Scotland, and so no mother's name is found there either.

The dates suggest he was the child of Agnes Gordon, principally because the children of Jean Forbes are listed in the parish registers, and moreover, of that marriage, the first child's baptism is nine months after the marriage of its parents.

William married Margaret SKENE, daughter of Gilbert SKENE 3rd of Dyce, Burgess of Aberdeen and Marjorie BUCHAN, on 5 June 1656 in Dyce parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 (Margaret SKENE was born about 1638.)

Note: Since Dyce was the bride's home parish, it is likely the marriage took place there, though this is by no means certain.
