"James (Irvine), the second son, by an arrangement with his elder brother, succeeded to the estate of Artamford on the death of his father in 1636. He married Anne, daughter of Keith of Ravenscraig : and died in 1675. He left two sons - James, who succeeded to Artamford, and another, who died young and unmarried; also two daughters - Anne, married to Elphinstone of Glack; and Beatrix, married to Dalgardno of Millhill."
