"This Alexander Irvine of Drum died in 1603, in which year his will is dated. The will of his wife, Lady Elizabeth Keith, is dated in 1585.Their family consisted of five sons and four daughters, viz. :\emdash (1) Alexander, who succeeded his father; (2) Robert of Fomet and Moncoffer; (3) James of Brucklaw, predecessor of the Irvines of Saphock; (4) William of Beltie;6' (5) John of Artamford; and (1) , married to Hay of Ury; (2) , married to Keith of Craig, Inverugie; (3) Elizabeth, married to James Ogilvie of Boyne;10 (4) Margaret, married to Gilbert Menzies of Pitfoddels."

Note: This author notes two different daughters named Margaret who married
'Gilbert Menzies of Pitfoddels', one daughter of the 8th Laird, and one of the 11th Laird. Only this one seems to fit the dates. 1

Alexander married Elizabeth KEITH, daughter of William KEITH 3rd Earl Marischal and Margaret KEITH co-heiress of Inverugie, on 10 April 1552.1 (Elizabeth KEITH was born about 1544 and died by 1585 1.)
