John Powell died at the recorded age of 61 years, after six days of illness, of the palsy. His birthplace was noted as "Wales England".

In the 1880 census John's son Thomas stated his parents were born in Wales. 1 2


John married Mary POWELL MS UNKNOWN. (Mary POWELL MS UNKNOWN was born about 1788 in Wales 2 3 4 and died in November 1869 in Perry, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, USA 1.). The cause of her death was brochitis.1
